Picked up and AR as a gift of sorts. The major PMC around these parts, Great Lakes Equations, dominates the private security business. They’re pretty well known for making the waters they’re named after much safer though they do plenty of ground work too.Point is, they’re based in Michigan and so am I, so we’ve done plenty of work together. Hell, even when I’m not working with them it’s easy enough to trip over some of their employees.Anyway unlike most scum that band together with a few guns and explosives, throw on a uniform and demand money for blood these guys are pros. They pay their debts to the penny. I was doing some work with them moving some stuff through Lake Michigan to Illinois and ended up getting this piece in return as part of my payment after fending off a surprisingly serious pirate attack. They came at us full force, we slapped them silly and took what we wanted instead. Serves them right.Couple of the pirates had survived and even the ones not seriously wounded were unceremoniously killed on the spot. They would have done much worse to us than just shoot us or slit our throats. Almost wanted to repay the favor.Point is after all that one of the GLE guys, the one leading the crew protecting that vessel, had given me one of his guns. AR pistol with a stock put on it, though that’s easily removed to make it even more compact. Gave me his nice mags and a little ammo for it too, the rest I took in standard payment though. Always need some cash on hand, even if I do love me some AR.- Gene
